Regional Commodity Leader & Program Buyer

The REGIONAL COMMODITY LEADER & PROGRAM BUYER is the owner of various commodities and the related panel of the suppliers for the North America Region. In deep connection with the    Purchasing team she /he thus focus on continuously improving the Financial and Industrial performance of her / his perimeter. To this regard he builds and leads Multi-Functional Teams (MFT) and conducts her / his actions in a project management mode.




  • Cover purchased price and supplier operational risk through negotiating firm LTA/ agreements against the local Programs requirements and assigned negotiation SOW (may be regional or global)
  • Assure surveillance and negotiation planning of supplier contract coverage to meet Programs requirements
  • Provide instrumental support in defining and deploying commodity strategy in collaboration with Programs requirements and all Commodity leaders
  • Propose alternate sourcing options when relevant
  • Help formalize busines cases with Risk, Opportunities, APQP, NRC, ROI, transition plans between incumbents and future sources with Programs and transfer teams, in cases of Buy->Buy, Make->Buy and Buy->Make
  • Foster technical productivity & product continuous improvement initiatives on mature purchased products through managing a local Material Steering committee
  • Foster and monitor adequate SAP/ ERP supplier and Part and price configuration to allow for seamless ordering process with contracted partners
  • Spearhead VMI Contract roll out with candidate suppliers
  • Help track direct & indirect cost for amounts to reclaim, assist negotiation with faulty vendors to cash in related credit notes within determined


  • High stake negotiations of engineered parts with US & Mex vendor base
  • Contract management
  • Project/ program management, continuous improvement DMAIC green/ black belt
  • Fully bilingual Spanish English
  • Proficiency with Excel databases and smart data pivoting
    International travel 
  • Excellent negotiation skills, ability to drive successful supplier relationships and teamwork
