  1. Purpose and Scope

 

The Key Account Manager is responsible for sales, marketing and bids and proposals activities that will result in the growth of Comtek’s business.  Primary focus is manufacturing, and prototyping, but may be involved in business development for MRO services as directed.  The Key Account Manager is also the tactical owner of the bids and proposals process for all manufacturing and prototype production opportunities, as well as all sales related forecasting activities. Organizes, delegates and / or participates in all business development activities (sales calls, trade shows, account management).

 

  1. Responsibilities

 

  • Work with the Comtek management team to develop the tactical means to achieve the company goals
  • Design and implement specific business development plans for targeted customers / products
  • Identify potential customers which have a high likelihood of benefitting from Comtek’s manufacturing ability
  • Develop relationships with new candidate customers while maintaining / strengthening existing relationships
  • Work with the MRO - Services group to present a unified, consistent, and complete image of Comtek’s Capabilities
  • Manage a team of inside sales people to provide accurate work flow status data and forecast accuracy
  • Contribute to the budgeting process with the Director of Sales & NPI
  • Achieve annual department goals for assigned direct sales accounts as agreed with Director, Sales & NPI

at the start of each fiscal year.

  • Support Comtek’s global network of distributors to maximize sales through these channels.
  • Develop information transfer packages to allow supporting departments adequate input into the sales process, and to ensure that business development efforts are linked to production.
  • Lead an interdisciplinary team to produce comprehensive production concepts, cost models, and business cases based on early customer data.
  • Manage subordinate Customer Service Representatives as required.
  • When required additional roles and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the Director,

Sales & NPI.

 

  1. Organizational Relationships

 

The position will involve frequent interaction with other members of the sales team, particularly Director, Sales & NPI, Director of Finance, Director of Operations, Inside Sales Team, as well as interaction with Engineering, Operations and Quality Assurance personnel.
