II/ AIM OF THE POSITION
Latecoere Aerostructures Canada (Avcorp Industries) currently has an opportunity for an experienced Logistics
Supervisor. Reporting to the Materials Manager, this incumbent will be responsible for supervising union employees,
planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures and recommending improvements in processes,
procedures and working conditions.

III/ MISSIONS AND ACTIVITIES
Overview of key responsibilities - Shipping & Receiving Supervisor
1. Team Leadership & Daily Operations
•Manage and direct material handlers in the Shipping and Receiving department, including hiring, training,
coaching, performance management, and disciplinary actions
•Oversee day-to-day shipping, receiving, and receiving inspection activities to ensure safe, accurate, and
timely processing of materials
•Assign and manage daily priorities to support production schedules and operational requirements
•Track attendance, absenteeism, and timekeeping for assigned personnel
•Promote strong employee relations, engagement, and accountability across the team
2. Shipping, Receiving & Material Flow
•Ensure accurate receipt, verification, and recording of incoming shipments, including proper documentation
in ERP/WMS systems
•Oversee preparation, packaging, and shipment of outgoing materials in accordance with customer and
company requirements
•Manage internal material movement between dock, stock, and production areas to support operational flow
•Ensure effective dock operations, including loading and unloading of trucks and carrier coordination
•Support receiving inspection processes and work with quality teams to minimize delays and discrepancies
3. Inventory Control & Systems Accuracy
•Maintain accuracy of inventory transactions and shipping/receiving records within ERP system
•Manage min/max levels of shipping supplies based on operational and customer requirements
•Ensure traceability, accuracy, and integrity of all material movements
4. Logistics, Freight & Cost Management
•Negotiate freight rates and develop relationships with logistics partners and carriers
•Support freight consolidation initiatives to reduce overall transportation costs
•Monitor and control freight, duties, and brokerage expenses against budget
•Identify opportunities for improved logistics efficiency and cost savings
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Production Support
•Collaborate with production, supply chain, and quality teams to support daily priorities and resolve material
shortages
•Provide regular status updates on shipments, shortages, and receiving issues impacting production
•Coordinate with supplier quality to reduce delays and ensure smooth incoming material flow
6. Compliance, Safety & Workplace Standards
•Ensure compliance with all applicable transportation, safety, security, and regulatory requirements
•Support accident investigations and enforce safe work practices within the department
•Maintain 5S standards and promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment
•Ensure proper use and maintenance of material handling equipment and dock operations
7. Continuous Improvement & Reporting
•Contribute to development and improvement of shipping and receiving processes and procedures
•Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Kaizen) to improve efficiency and productivity
•Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time shipping and receiving, accuracy,
and cost performance
8. Business Impact & Leadership Accountability
•Provide leadership to achieve targets in safety, quality, cost, productivity, and morale
•Make operational and personnel decisions within scope of responsibility
•Ensure shipping and receiving operations fully support customer delivery commitments (e.g., Boeing or
other key customers
IV/ SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
• Integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information
• Strong time management and follow-through
• Ability to work independently with guidance and ask questions when needed
• Continuous-improvement mindset
• Certificate or diploma in logistics, supply chain management, warehousing, or business administration.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree.
• Work is performed in an office and manufacturing setting; appropriate PPE may be required
• Ability to walk the production floor and stand for short periods during inspections or observations
• May require occasional lifting of light items (e.g., binders, PPE supplies)
